  • Dr. Nida Chenagtsang is the co-founder and principle teacher of Pure Land Farms, and founder and medical director of the Sowa Rigpa Institute: School of Traditional Tibetan Medicine.

    Born in Amdo, in North Eastern Tibet Dr. Nida began his early studies Sowa Rigpa (Traditional Tibetan Medicine) at the local Tibetan Medicine hospital. Later he was awarded scholarship to enter the Lhasa Tibetan Medical University, where he completed his medical education in 1996 with practical training at the Tibetan Medicine hospitals in Lhasa and Lhoka. 

    He has extensively researched ancient Tibetan healing methods, and has gained high acclaim in the East and West for his revival of little known traditional Tibetan external healing therapies.

    Dr. Nida is also the Co-Founder and Medical Director of Sorig Khang International, Co-Founder of the International Ngakmang Institute, established to preserve and maintain the Rebkong ngakpa non-monastic yogi/ini culture within modern Tibetan society.

    In addition to his work as a physician, he trains students in Sowa Rigpa and the Yuthok Nyingthig tradition in over forty countries around the world.

    Amchi Lhakpa Dolma studied at the Tibetan Children Village School (TCV) and completed her five year degree in Tibetan Medicine from Mentseekhang Tibetan Medicine & Astrological Institute in Dharamsala, graduating with a Kachupa degree (BTMS) in 2002. In 2013 she was granted Menrapa degree (MD) from Mentseekhang.

    Dr Lhakpa Dolma’s interest in Tibetan Medicine started from a very young age as her father studied Tibetan Medicine and Astrology under the close guidance of Trulku Sangye Kunga, a great Dzogchen master from Gebchag Gompa. Growing up, she watched her father healing people through spiritual practices and Tibetan Medicine with Trulku.

    Dr. Lhakpa moved to South Africa in 2001 and practiced Tibetan Medicine there for five years, teaching workshops and giving lectures and on Tibetan Medicine before returning to India in 2006. 

    Since 2006 she has been practicing Tibetan Medicine in Bangalore, India at Menlha Wellness, and giving virtual consultations. In addition to medicines, she considers a wholesome diet and healthy lifestyle of utmost importance for all.

    Dr. Lhakpa has also served as resident doctor and teacher at the Valley School (KFI) in Bangalore from 2014 - 2016 and in 2019. Her keen interest in promoting mother child healthy living was strongly cultivated after developing close knit relationships with young children and teachers at the school. She believes that patience, love, and gratitude for every little thing brings people closer and harmonizes our relationship with nature. She is a mother of three children aged 16, 14, and 10.

  • Tibetan Mantra Healing, Yuthok Nyingthig Personal Practice Guidance

    Drukmo Gyal Dakini (འགྲུག་མོ་རྒྱ) was born in the Northeastern part of Tibet into a yogi family where mantra, yoga, and meditation were introduced at a young age. With support from her local Tibetan yogi community and family, she practiced mantras with traditional melodies and in 2008 began singing publicly and touring the world. In 2014 she moved to the West in order to work with Sorig Khang International, one of the largest organizations for Tibetan Medicine in the world, founded by her teacher Dr. Nida Chenagtsang.

    Since she has been in the West she has produced five albums of Tibetan healing mantras and chants with musicians from all over the world and traveled to over twenty countries to share concerts, public talks, workshops, and courses on mantra, yoga, meditation, and the external healing therapies of Tibetan Medicine. One of the primary focuses of all her activities is to help females to find equality and to help mothers and children to view each other with divinity and compassion through Tibetan spiritual practices.

    Wendy Thomson completed her Master's degree in Counseling & Human Services at Lehigh University and is a licensed mental health professional with an integrative approach specializing in grief counseling related to a range of death & non-death losses.

    Wendy met Dr. Nida Chenagstang in 2018 and became inspired to integrate her Western counseling & psychological training with Vajrayana Buddhism & Sowa Rigpa.

    She is a Sowa Rigpa Counselor, Sowa Rigpa Yoga Practitioner, Certified Nejang Yoga Teacher & Mantra Healer.

  • Sowa Rigpa External Therapies

    Bair Manzarkhanov, LMT a native of Buryatia in Eastern Siberia, brings a unique integrated approach to his healing practice with a firm grounding in Russian and Asian medical and therapeutic massage traditions. He incorporates a blend of modalities and tailors each session to the client’s individual needs.

    Bair graduated from the Ulan-Ude Fundamental Medical College in 1999 with a specialization in the Healing Arts and subsequently received a master’s degree in Psychology. He worked as a licensed massage therapist in Russia, both as a private practitioner and in several renowned massage and rehabilitation centers in Siberia, including the Dikulia Center for Rehabilitation in Irkutsk and the Institute for Eastern Medicine in Ulan-Ude, the latter being the largest and most respected center for Tibetan medical treatment in the region.

    Bair has earned professional certificates in medical massage, Chinese acupressure, lymphatic massage, connective tissue massage, deep tissue massage, and Tibetan Kunye massage. A dedicated student of Dr. Nida Chenagtsang, he practices a variety of Sowa Rigpa external therapies and Buddhist spiritual healing techniques.

  • Yuthok Nyingthig Personal Practice Guidance, Nejang Yoga Instruction

    Christiana is the Director of Pure Land Farms and the Sowa Rigpa Institute of Tibetan Medicine and its publishing house, Sky Press.

    Christiana received her Bachelor of Arts in the Comparative Study of Religion at Harvard University and has been immersed in Eastern contemplative traditions for over twenty five years. She has studied both Tibetan and Chinese Daoist healing arts and received a Masters in Acupuncture from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon. She has traveled extensively around the world, seeking out authentic living lineages in both the healing and spiritual sciences.

    Under the guidance of Dr. Nida, she teaches foundational courses on Tibetan Medicine, yoga and rejuvenation, and guides retreats and practices in the Yuthok Nyingthig meditation tradition at Pure Land Farms, online, and internationally.

  • Sound Healing, Sowa Rigpa External Therapies

    Micah Sheiner is a vibrational artist/healer.  He travels extensively to learn from musical, spiritual, & healing traditions around the world.  With inspiration from India, he has dedicated much of his path to the yoga of sound - relating with holistic resonance as a source of medicine, insight, & inspiration.  In Nepal he has trained in Himalayan sound healing with singing bowls, gongs, & bells.  In Europe he has apprenticed in gong playing, gong yoga, & Starhenge World Peace Bell Gardens. 

    Micah is a graduate of Sowa Rigpa Institute’s four year Sowa Rigpa Practitioner program and integrates external therapies, mantra & spiritual healing into his sound healing practice. 

    Micah received a Master’s degree in Education from UCLA.  He explores and teaches sound through bowls, gongs, voice, didgeridoo, strings, & percussion instruments.  He weaves these into resonant soundscapes for healing, meditation, yoga, & journeying.  Micah conducts sound baths, workshops, individual sessions, & performances in California and internationally.

    Amchi Nyima Tsering graduated from Men Tsee Khang Institute, India, by achieving ‘Kachup Degree’. Prior to joining Men Tsee Khang Institute, he studied Buddhist Philosophy and Dialect at Institute of Buddhist Dialectic for three years. During his tenure as Sowa Rigpa Medical Student, he attended three years successful classes of Unity in Duality, to enhance the inner knowledge of Eastern Inner Science of Mind and Phenomena and its Application organized Tarab Institute.

    Dr. Nyima Tsering is one of the founding members of the Sowa Rigpa International College at Kathmandu in Nepal, under the affiliation of Lumbini Buddhist University.  At present, he serves as the Principal of the college alongside being the chief Physician at Kunphen Tibetan Medical Centre in Kathmandu, Nepal. He is a visiting faculty member at Osaka Chinese Medical Practitioners in Japan and travels both nationally and internationally to give seminars and workshops and to present at conferences.

    Following the 2015 earthquake disaster in Nepal, Amchi Nyima Tsering took active initiative in providing free Medical camps in and around remote areas of Kathmandu. He is a faculty member of the Sowa Rigpa Institute, teching both online classes and supporting visiting SRI students in Nepal to deepen their practical education.

    Lama Justin von Bujdoss is a Vajrayana Buddhist teacher, writer and chaplain. He is the founder and spiritual director of Yangti Yoga Retreat Center – a retreat center focused on the Vajrayana Buddhist practice of dark retreat in Buckland, MA. Justin is the author of Modern Tantric Buddhism: Authenticity and Embodiment in Dharma Practice.

    With over thirty years of Buddhist practice, Justin is ordained as a repa, a lay tantric yogin in the tradition of Milarepa, by His Eminence Gyaltsab Rinpoche, one of the heart sons of His Holiness the 16th Karmapa and is a ngakpa, a lay tantric yogin in the Nyingma tradition of the Yuthok Nyingthik lineage.

    He has worked professionally as a hospice chaplain, was the head chaplain and Executive Director of Chaplaincy and Staff Wellness for New York City Department of Correction, and served as the chaplain for Hart Island, New York City’s Potter’s Field. He has worked at the intersection of death and dying in multiple clinical settings and has trained extensively in death and dying related spiritual practices found throughout the Vajrayana Buddhist practice traditions. He is currently the chaplain for the Shelburne Falls/Buckland Fire Department.

    Amchi Thinlay Wangmo was born and raised in Nepal, before moving to Mussoorie, India for high school. After finishing her high school education, she pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Sowa Rigpa Medicine and Surgery, a rigorous six-and-a-half-year program that deepened her understanding of holistic healing practices. During her studies she became actively involved in medical camps across the remote Himalayan regions of Nepal, including Dolpo, Pharphing, Nagarkot, Solukhumbu, and Kathmandu, offering healthcare to underserved communities.

    In addition to her academic and professional pursuits, she has always been passionate about community service and has been a member of the nonprofit organization Sorig Students in Action since her college days. She also worked as a science teacher at Kopan Monastery Shree Arya Asanga Buddhist School, where she had the opportunity to share her knowledge with young monks. For three years, she was actively involved in organizing Bhumtsok, a significant puja for the well-being of all sentient beings, which reinforced her commitment to both healing and compassion. 

    Currently, she practices at Sowa Rigpa Wellness Centre in Boudha, Nepal, where she provides personalized care to individuals seeking traditional healing methods. Alongside her clinical practice, she serves as a lecturer at Sowa Rigpa International College and mentor at the Sowa Rigpa Institute, guiding the next generation of Sowa Rigpa practitioners. Her journey has always been driven by a passion for healing, education, and service to the community.

    Bryan is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, with 19 years in private medical practice, specializing in pain relief and the treatment of chronic disease and mental health. He is a California Licensed and Nationally Board Certified Acupuncturist and expert of acupuncture, East Asian botanical medicine, moxibustion, cupping, massage, medical qigong, and diet and lifestyle therapy.

    Bryan holds a doctorate from the prestigious Pacific College of Health & Science, in San Diego, which has specifically prepared him in an integrative, evidence-based, whole-person, patient-centered approach. After receiving his bachelors in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1998, Bryan worked as a mental health counselor and behavior specialist in Chicago, Illinois. In 2000, he completed over 750 hours of training in Clinical Massage therapy at the Soma Institute.  In 2005, Bryan graduated from Five Branches Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, in Santa Cruz, California, completing over 3,400 hours of training upon entering into private practice.

    In 2008, Bryan started mentorship under Dr. Wei-chieh Young, one of the world’s foremost authority’s in acupuncture and inheritor of the Master Tung system, completing advanced training for rapid results. In addition to these skills, Bryan has Advanced Constitutional Facial Renewal Acupuncture certification from Mary Elizabeth Wakefield, advanced medical qigong training, extensive Eastern botanical medicine prescriptive experience, and experience practicing acupuncture in a women’s health center and oncology setting.

    Bryan is a student of Tibetan Buddhist Vajrayana meditation of 25 years and was formally introduced to Sowa Rigpa (Tibetan Medicine) in 2002. Since 2019 Bryan has been a full-time student of Sowa Rigpa and guides new students of the Sowa Rigpa Institute as a mentor and tutor. Bryan works with Dr. Nida Chenagtsang as his clinical assistant and supports practitioners in group or private retreat.

    Bryan’s approach to healing, informed by both Sowa Rigpa (Tibetan Medicine) and Chinese Medicine, addresses imbalance at the level of the body, energy, and mind, through diet and lifestyle therapy, herbal medicine and external therapies. When appropriate or requested Bryan may include spiritual approaches in his work as well, such as Tibetan mantra healing (ngakchö rigpa), energy healing (Yuthok’s Healing activities), lunar (la) therapy, and guided visualization and meditation. Bryan sees his work as a catalyst to empower our own inner infinite healing potential.

    Amchi Tenzin Yangdon is founder of White Tara Tibetan Healing in the San Francisco Bay Area.

    Amchi Tenzin Yangdon graduated in 1992 from MenTsee Khang, Tibetan medical college in Dharamsala India; she studied traditional Tibetan herbal medicine, acupuncture and holistic Tibetan healing. Dr.Yangdon practiced for many years under Doctor Kunga Gyurmey Ngarongsha (the personal physician of His Holiness the Dalai Lama). She travels all over Europe and United States seeing patients, teaching Tibetan healing, giving talks and presentations.

    She is currently available in San Francisco Bay area for general consultations and holistic Tibetan Herbal healing and therapeutic healing. She is also a Certified Acupressure practitioner from Acupressure Institute America, and a master herbalist. Amchi Tenzin Yangdon has been practicing Yuthok Nyingthok Healing tradition for the past 20 years. She also has studied Phadampa and Machig Labdron Shije Chod practice from Lama Wangdu Rinpoche and Yogi Thongdrol Dorjee since 2008. She is active as a healer and teacher at the International Academy for Traditional Tibetan Medicine. Dr. Tenzin is also a well known sound healer in the world.
